On October 7, 2013, a grand opening of a new Center for vehicle service and repairs took place in Polytechnic College within Multi-Discipline College of Novgorod State University (NovGU).

The new Center is intended to efficiently train the College students in modern technologies applied to vehicle repairs and service. Also, the Center will be used as the grounds for training and professional upgrading of operators at the technical inspection and vehicle service stations.

Participating in the Center’s grand opening were:

— Yury Bobryshev – the Mayor of Veliky Novgorod;

— Victor Weber – the Chancellor of Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University;

and Anatoly Alexeev – the Chair of the Board of Directors, Group of GARO Companies.

Specialists from the Group of GARO Companies have supplied and assembled state-of-the-art repair-shop and diagnostic equipment manufactured by the Group itself and by its European partners and supplied under such brands as Hofmann, Cartec, Sirio, Fiac, and Rudetrans.

NovGU employees have been trained in the GARO Group Training Center in operating and servicing the supplied equipment.

On August 28 through 31, 2013, “InterAuto-2013” – one of Russia’s major specialized exhibitions for the automobile industry’s professionals – took place in “CROCUS EXPO” exhibition center in Moscow. Subject-wise, the exposition was divided into the following sections: automotive vehicles, auto parts, garage and service equipment, tires and disks, chemical products and oils, safety systems, and car accessories.

The exposition occupied over 45,000 sq m of the first and second pavilions of “CROCUS EXPO”.

It was opened on August 28, 2013, at noon, in the first exhibition pavilion’s hall. Among officials opening the 9^th international exhibition “InterAuto-2013” was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GARO Companies Group Mr. Anatoly Alexeev.

Participating in the opening ceremony also were:

— Head of Directorate of passenger automotive and ground electric transportation of the Transport Ministry of Moscow Oblast’ Mr. Yury Shestopalov;

— Director of Department of governmental branch programs coordination of the Ministry of regional development of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Aristov;

— Deputy Minister of economic development of Kaluga Oblast’, Head of Directorate of governmental planning of the Ministry of regional development of Kaluga Oblast’ Mr. Dmitry Abramov;

— Executive Director of Non-profit partnership “Association of car manufacturers of Russia” Mr. Igor Korovkin;

— Director General of the National Association of auto parts manufacturers (NAPAK) Mr. Mikhail Blokhin.

The exhibition booth of the GARO Group demonstrated a wide range of equipment intended for repair and servicing of motor vehicles. In addition to other events, an official presentation of a new model of a microprocessor-controlled electric bench labeled as E250M-02 was held during the exhibition. During InterAuto, GARO Group specialists conducted master-classes on operation of presented equipment. It should be noted that, specifically with a purpose of training visitors of the company’s booth, a representative of Giuliano company, Mr. Alberto Tadolini, was present at the exhibition and demonstrated operations of a tire-changer for passenger car Run Flat and PAX tires and THE BOSS tire-changer for reinforced wheels. At the booth of GARO Group visitors could also see a scissor lift, premium-class hand tool sets by USAG, and state-of-the-art vehicle inspection equipment, namely, passenger car testing lane LTK-4P-SP-11 and brake-tester BDE 3504 SC UW1 SmG 13t with a floor-installed roller set.

All visitors of the GARO Group booth at InterAuto-2013 received corporate souvenirs and an updated catalogue of GARO Group equipment.

On July 23 through 25, 2013, a seminar cycle for sales managers and heads of dealers of GARO Group is taking place on the premises of the Group of GARO Companies.

This training session’s target is to introduce to the dealers foreign partners of the GARO Group and their products, namely:

– break-testers and lanes by German company Cartec;

– electric bench E250М with micro-processor control, digital signal processing and wireless computer connection;

– welding equipment by well-known brands Jäckle and Rudetrans;

– play detectors by Polish company Unimetal;

– wheel aligners by one of the world’s leading manufacturers Hofmann;

– lifting equipment by Italian company Sirio and German company Rudetrans;

– premium-class tire-changing equipment by Italian brand Giuliano;

– wheel washers by Polish company Kart that is well-known in the Russian market;

– exhaust extractors by Italian manufacturer Filcar; and

– premium-class hand tools by USAG.

The seminars were illustrated by video materials containing information regarding operations of the equipment presented. Master catalogues and booklets were handed out to all participants for familiarization and future use.

A sales training was held on one of the days, including information on data sources, generating and consequent use of customer databases, “sales funnel”, telemarketing specifics, and “dealing with objections”. This training enables specialists to implement new instruments in the sales process.

Within its international cooperation course, the Group of GARO Companies has organized a master-class for all training participants. The master-class demonstrated operations of top-range tire changers manufactured by Italian company Giuliano and was held in GARO training and demonstration center. The master-class was conducted personally by Mr. Alberto Tadolini, the representative of Giuliano Industrial S.p.A – Automotive Equipment.

The following equipment was demonstrated in operation: tire-changers THE BOSS and Crossage Evo for passenger cars and light trucks wheels, including Runflat tires, PAX and reinforced wheels, demounting QX System and truck tire-changer S551XL. Information on the range of equipment manufactured by Giuliano Industrial S.p.A. was presented.

At the closure of the three-day training course, all participants received commemorative certificates and souvenirs from the Group of GARO Companies.

On June 5th through 8th, 2013, Novosibirsk was hosting “Avtosib’2013” expo – the major exhibition in Siberia in “Auto Business” sphere. The joint booth of ZAO “GARO-Trade” and “IMPACT-Sibir” company (the leading supplier of garage and diagnostic equipment in Siberian Federal District) demonstrated there state-of-the-art garage and diagnostic equipment, including car brake-tester BDE-2304, car suspension play tester GST-2300, and wheel aligners Geoliner 670 lift and Geoliner 550 Prism.

The event agenda within the exhibition framework included meetings with existing and prospective customers, demonstration of equipment in operation, and presentation of new products.

On May 22-24, in Ulan-Ude (Buryat Republic), a traditional inter-regional specialized exhibition fair “Autotransexpo. Roads. Logistics. Warehouse” has taken place.

The exhibition was dedicated to the Russian Entrepreneurship Day. Within the fair framework, there were offered an exposition “Buy domestic products”, a traditional entrepreneur-consultative forum, seminars, presentations, round tables, and competitions for various nominations.

Expositions within the fair were presented in the following categories:

• Automotive vehicles, spare parts, tires, accumulators, chemical products, electronics;
• Agricultural machinery, special vehicles and their spare parts;
• Garage equipment, equipment for fuel stations;
• Equipment for car service;
• Road service;
• Transport service, warehousing and handling works automation and mechanization means;
• Warehousing equipment, security systems;
• Road construction;
• Tuning, safety systems, car insurance.

The Group of GARO Companies together with the dealer, OOO IZKDA (Irkutsk) exhibited wheel aligners for passenger cars, light trucks and microbuses.

A draft Federal law “On making alterations in individual legislative acts of the Russian Federation” was published on May 6, 2013, at the Unified portal intended for placing information regarding the federal executive authorities developing normative legal acts and their public debating outcomes.

The draft law is aimed at perfection of the vehicle inspection system within the Russian federation and at assurance of its efficiency.

 As an explanatory note to the draft law states, among innovations there are: the staff includes a technical expert per each inspection station; the Russian Union of Vehicle Insurers is granted authority to pass warnings to the operator (if any violations of accreditation requirements and/or vehicle inspection rules are detected during a field audit of a technical inspection operator); federal executive bodies in the technical inspection field are granted authority to approve requirements for the production and technical basis of a technical inspection station and usage procedure for portable diagnostic lanes.

The law is available for public discussion for 15 days from its publishing date.
